Journalist

Location: Madrid, Madrid, Comunidad de Madrid, España <p>We are looking for a Madrid-based Journalist to join the team behind Citywire Spain. This role is for a journalist who wants to go beyond press releases. You will cover the Spanish asset management and wealth management sectors, breaking exclusive news, interviewing key industry decision-makers, and producing original research across our daily news service.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Contributing to our online daily news service by sourcing stories and interviewing key figures in the financial advice and wider investment space.</li><li>Breaking original and exclusive news that matters for advisers and the wider investment world.</li><li>Reporting on asset management operations, regulatory changes, banking, private wealth, and independent financial advisers.</li><li>Balancing daily news reporting with longer-term research projects tailored to publication deadlines.</li><li>Developing and maintaining a strong network of contacts across the financial services sector.</li><li>Managing article distribution across social platforms to engage our audience of financial professionals.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p><ul><li>Language Skills: Fluent Spanish speaker; alongside professional proficiency in English.</li><li>Experience: Proven ability to write news stories and features.</li><li>Sector Interest: Curiosity about the financial sector and a desire to build expertise in wealth management, banking, and investments.</li><li>Strong Communication: Ability to build rapport with sources, ask the right questions, and explain complex subjects clearly.</li><li>Comfortable with Data: Comfortable using Big Data, AI tools, and specialised software to analyse market trends, extract key insights, and elevate your storytelling.</li><li>Proactive Approach: Self-starter mindset with the initiative to chase leads and uncover original stories, whilst sticking to deadlines.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Meet Citywire </strong></p><p>We cover - and connect - all sides of the $100 trillion global asset management industry - through our news, events and insights.</p><p>At Citywire, we uphold a culture rooted in <strong>honesty, integrity</strong>, and <strong>fairness</strong>, where every voice is valued and heard.
