Job Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant / Store Keeper is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse/store, including receiving, storing, and issuing inventory. This role requires a strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving & Inspection:
    • Receive incoming goods from suppliers, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
    • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming goods for any damages or discrepancies.
    • Prepare receiving documents (e.g., Goods Received Notes, Inspection Reports).
  • Storage & Organization:
    • Accurately store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse/store.
    • Maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) to ensure product freshness and quality.
    • Optimize warehouse space utilization through efficient storage methods.
    • Keep the warehouse/store clean, organized, and safe.
  • Issuing & Dispatch:
    • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently based on customer requirements.
    • Prepare goods for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
    • Assist with loading and unloading of goods from vehicles.
    • Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements (receipts, issues, transfers).
  • Inventory Management:
    • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Assist with physical inventory counts as required.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS) or other relevant software.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist with other warehouse/store duties as assigned, such as cycle counts, housekeeping, and equipment maintenance.
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse/store.
    • Maintain good communication with other departments (e.g., purchasing, sales, production).
