Job Description
Job Summary:
The Assistant / Store Keeper is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the warehouse/store, including receiving, storing, and issuing inventory. This role requires a strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving & Inspection:
- Receive incoming goods from suppliers, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders.
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming goods for any damages or discrepancies.
- Prepare receiving documents (e.g., Goods Received Notes, Inspection Reports).
- Storage & Organization:
- Accurately store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse/store.
- Maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) to ensure product freshness and quality.
- Optimize warehouse space utilization through efficient storage methods.
- Keep the warehouse/store clean, organized, and safe.
- Issuing & Dispatch:
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently based on customer requirements.
- Prepare goods for shipment, ensuring proper packaging and labeling.
- Assist with loading and unloading of goods from vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory movements (receipts, issues, transfers).
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Assist with physical inventory counts as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS) or other relevant software.
- Other Duties:
- Assist with other warehouse/store duties as assigned, such as cycle counts, housekeeping, and equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures within the warehouse/store.
- Maintain good communication with other departments (e.g., purchasing, sales, production).
